Controlled bleeding time and chilling time supported by the First-in, First-out (FIFO) principle contributes to supplying consistently superior quality.
The solution is suitable for most fishing vessels both large and small and can be situated in vessels as small as 11 meters long and 4 meters wide. The patented side injection circulates seawater and/or fluid ice and evacuates blood efficiently. Temperature is regulated and optimized according to seawater temperature, time until land and whatever further processing methods will be used.
Bleeding is a critical step in processing groundfish as insufficient bleeding results in blood color in fillets and increases bacterial count. By optimiing the timing and temperature of the bleeding process with RoteX™, each fish receives the same treatment and excellent fillet quality can be achieved.
Research has shown that rapid chilling during the initial stages of processing results in an extended rigor mortis period and increases the overall quality and shelf life of the product. Longer and consistent shelf life creates for favorable opportunities in logistics as well as considerable savings.
The RoteX™ Onboard solution can be installed with both a heat exchanger or a Fluid Ice system for chilling the product. When operating in colder climates, the system can be installed without the additional chilling functions.
